I was told by the Honda dealer that putting full synthetic oil in these bikes are not recommended because it will cause the clutch to go out sooner. Any thoughts on this? This didnt seem very logical to me but I took his advice and went with a the Honda semi-syn oil 10-40 rather than the full synthetic. I have always put full synthetic in everything I own and would really feel better if my new baby had full syn in her too. So any advice is appreciated!
Thanks and Ride Safe!

A motorcycle specific full synthetic is fine for these bikes. The recommended viscosity is 10W40. The brand is up to you. I use Mobil 1 Racing 4t. Good luck and Ride Safe.

the factory manual specifies natural honda gn4 1040. i used to use semi syn but just switched to the old standard dyno oil spec'd in the manual.

I'm going with amsoil 10w-40 with an amsoil filter. I like the idea of going 12 months with both the oil/filter.

I use Repsol full synthetic in all my bikes. No issues!

Never had any problems with fully synthetic in any bike I've owned.
