I'm in Buckeye, AZ. That's a pretty goo distance away, but maybe we could get a meet up in between in Wickenburg or so! What do you think? Anyone else out there on the west side of Phoenix?

I have 13 doberman puppies I am raising at the moment but they will go to new homes the first week of march. After that I am down to head down to the valley or to meet along the way. I know a guy with a built to the hilt 03 that lives in peoria. maybe i can get him to go too

That sounds good! I haven't met anyone around here yet with an RC. It would be good to get together and make some noise!

Good to hear from you again iceman! Hey i have a question for ya seeings how you live in Glendale area. There is an Amsoil dealer in Peoria, do you know anything about them? I called and left a message and also emailed to see if I could pick some oil up and they haven't gotten back to me yet. Just wondering. Also, when would you like to meet up for a ride? I found some nice areas to go.

sounds good! i'm going out to pick up some amsoil do change the bike and car right now. i'm going to have to do some work on the four wheeler to get it ready for the dunes next week for a friend. maybe i can squeeze in a ride though. i'll see how things go today with it first.

The kid put diesel in it by accident and he thought he blew up the motor so he let it sit. I changed the plug which was fouled and cleaned out the gas tank but I can't get the thing to start up. The oil was also low when I changed it so I am hoping the motor isn't seized. If it is it won't be that bad as I can always buy a 440 big bore kit

well first off will it turn over at all? Also did you go through the carb to get that crap out? If it turns over then obviously its not seized, but check the compression on it. The quad that i'm working on is a Bombardier DS650. I rebuilt the motor on it. the guy overheated it in Glamis and poured water on it to cool it down. Not the greatest thing to do.

it doesnt start but it sounds like its almost there. yes i cleaned the carb real well as i wanted to get that diesel out.... Should I just try to borrow a compression tester?

Well when it turns over how is the speed? normally you can get an idea by the speed of the engine if the compression is do. If it spins a little fast then it may be low. Also, you can get an idea by just pulling the plug and putting your finger over the hole. If it blows your finger off with some force when you turn it over the compression is still good. Give those a shot before looking for a compression tester. Also, try a little carb cleaner in the cylinder for a little jump start, but not a lot of it.

i tried a bit of starting fluid and it didnt do much. i will try out the other methods and let ya know

Okay and if all else fails try the compression tester out.

Just a dumb question, but you did check for spark right? A good solid spark?

bunch of rc riders meeting up in prescott this weekend....

due to an ankle injury, I can't go on any spirited rides for another month or so, but i'd love to go as soon as I can put weight on it again!

Guys I am looking to get talked into buying an RC51! Ever since I tested one out a few weeks ago I was hooked but I have now had several people tell me not to get one because they are heavy and handle like crap. specifically going into a turn and if the line is not right very hard to make corrections. Also one our in the saddle is painful. I have to say I rode one for about 25 minutes and it to me was pure joy (been riding for many years 600cc and lower). The low end torque and gear driven cams was addictive and exactly what I was looking for, I love and appreciate the race heritage...I did not want to get off. I cant say I spent much time in te saddle to really know and its hard to unless one just buys it or rides a friends. Sooooo what do you all think? Is the RC as difficult as all that? riding in the summer here is a great test bed for dealing with a bike this that runs 200F and has minimal insulation for the rider......

First off I say go for it. I just got done with a ride from Phoenix to St George, UT and yes the seat can get rock hard but hell thats normal. As for the bike being too heavy and handling like shit I dont know who told you that but BS! Probably never owned one. The bike handles excellent and im green as hell. I love the hell outta mine and smile every time I walk in the garage to see it. If you rode for that long and liked it i say you should know what you can do and believe me you wouldnt regret it....beautiful bike.

Picked up a gorgeous 2004 NH special last week! As soon as it cools off a bit we I would like to meet up and see a bunch of RC parked together. What a site that would be better yet what a sound that would be when they fire up!!!! I am in Chandler SE Valley.

sounds good. I still need to get the thing custom tuned but it runs pretty well. Still gets hot though.. Thinking of ways to improve the stock cooling

well no more prescott living for me. Just moved down to fountain hills and will be down here for the time being. Rc is running nice and enjoys the thicker air density. No plans for the bike until she goes down for the cam install

Well, finally settled in and checked in down here in yuma at the air station. The roads around here in town actually suck, looking forward to getting some ride time in some hills soon

Hard to believe we're getting weather like this right now...last year this time we had a bad storm roll through. :eek:

Anytime you want to make the ride up, I've got plenty of folks who will want to ride. The loop we did yesterday was a good one...new to me, but a great ride. Supposed to have nice weather this whole week :)
