I'm curious. How many out there are doing track days? If yes, where are you riding? Anybody riding at Barber in B'ham, AL? NESBA or STT? Let me know...

I am very much in favor of folks doing what they like to do. No judgement here. But, for me, the more I ride on the track the less I like the street. I'll be at Little Tally 11/09 with STT. Love some company...

There is a new track, designed by Derek Daly, opening soon near the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. It's about 45 minutes from Louisville KY.

I rode on Sunday only. Yea, it really was nuts. All the classes were packed. They ended up turning away the walk-in's without reservations...No more slots available. I was one of only two RC's that day (that I'm aware of). It was frustrating running into slower traffic on every lap. Pulling into the hot pit to let slower traffic pass didn't help. Doing that, which I tried a couple of times, only ended up putting me either behind, or in the middle of, another slow group of riders. Couldn't get out of traffic. Still, it was a fun day and as I said before the circuit was great to ride on. I'll be at Barber end of April with NESBA. Let me know if you can make it. I'll look out for you...

Ya the other RC was black it's a guy I know from Tampa he is pretty fast. I can't go to Barber but it is on my short list of must do's. Everyone says it's awesome. I'm going back to jennings on May 2nd and 3rd. My shop is renting the track let me know if you want to go. We have limited it to 50 riders.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. Thanks for the great offer, but that weekend we're back to Barber for the AMA Superbike races. The gang that I ride track with includes the local Honda dealer. Last Oct. he sprung for a private day at Jennings. The number ended up being about 20 folks including a last minute appearance by (no BS) Josh and Melissa Hayes who spent the day thoroughly embarrassing everyone. BTW: Melissa's NO slouch on her CBR 600--taking no prisoners!!! Unfortunately, yours truly had a last-minute, job-related hick up and didn't attend. This year, I'll be there. I will gladly let you know the particulars. We have the liberty (to a point) to invite friends/guests. So no issues if you're interested. Probably going to be in the Fall, when things cool off...

That's awesome, my business partner was there that day. Unless they were there some other time in addition to that time, He said Josh and Melissa were super cool people.

I live in San Diego and ride the track often. I'll be at Pharump in June, Fontana in July and BW in August. Let me know if you will be at any of those trackdays.

It's good to see riders with the trackday thinking in place! Going stupid on the road hasn't interested me for over 10 years, since I did my first trackday. Being on the other side of 'the big drink', I can't say that I know any of 'your' tracks, likewise I don't think many or any of you will know Oran Park, Winton, Eastern Creek(my current fave'), Wakefield Park... I am hanging to get to ride my Holy Grail that is Phillip Island. I've heard nothing but good/scary fast things about that track...
Have any of you ridden Laguna Seca? And is the Corkscrew as psycho as it looks on the TV? I'm guessing it's even worse in real life!

I'm not sure...I'll look into it for you. I'd suggest you'd need at least a 600cc machine for The Island: is a wide open, FAST track! I had a VFR400 ages ago, and I'd suggest you'd spend nearly half the lap on the limiter in 6th 'round there!

I'm just getting back into trackdays this year. I was at Jennings in Feb and March, and did Road Atlanta on Fathers Day. That was incredible! I really like that track, and I plan on going back in Sept with STT again. I wanted to do Jennings in August, but none of my trackday friends wanted to go. I decided to go to South Florida and race at Palm Beach Int. Raceway instead! I used to live down there, but moved before they got around to rebuilding and renaming Moroso Motorsports Park. That track was pretty crazy, and the new one looks much nicer. Still really fast, but also some really long carousel turns. Old Moroso had really old pavement and some nasty tight chicanes!
Anyway, should be some old friends there to hang with. My license app went out in the mail today!

May do one at miller in Salt Lake City in Oct. Need the gear first though. When I bought the bike I received a full leather suit but it is toooo small (46 and I must be at least a 50). Also need boots. I have short but fat feet (9 EEEE). Minor issues I hope to work out before Oct.

Barber on April 24 and 25th, riding with NESBA. This will be my first time out with the RC51. Bought it this past fall and have been picking up rashed plastics and a tank from EBay for doing track days. The bike now has pristine 2004 Nicky stuff on it. Will probably just do a few track days cause this bike is SO pretty I don't want to kill it. So far every track bike I've had eventually ended up on the ground, so I probably am not going to push the RC too hard, just enough to have fun and a shit eating grin at the end of the day!

I gotta tell ya I'm a little jealous. Being in Huntsville you're a whole lot closer to the Temple of Speed (AKA: Barber Motorsports Park) than we are here on the Coast. From Mobile it's four hours or more to any track we go to...

BTW: STT is THE BEST track day organization I've ridden with.
