I just finished putting my RC51 back together after a wreck and found that I am missing my Map Sensor that mounts on top of the air induct. I started the bike and the "F1" light came on on my head unit but then turned off. Is it bad the run my bike without this sensor? and how important is it for the engine to run properly? (they are quite expensive and I have spent several thousand on new parts already):(

The engine will run without the BARO sensor (on the front of the snorkel), but not as well at it could. The ECU fails into "ride home" mode.
The ECU has no way to tell what the ambient air pressure is at the inlet, so it fails to a default value of 760mm/Hg or 29.92 in/Hg (aka standard sea level pressure).
If you're at sea level, not too much effect. But the higher the altitude, the worse the engine will run.

I noticed that today when I went for a ride up a local mountain, got around 5000 ft and it ran like crap, got back down to sea level and seemed to run fine. Does anyone have one these laying around or know where I might be able to get one for less then $124? OEM is expensive...
