fmx09 08-08-2010, 03:25 AM I just finished putting my RC51 back together after a wreck and found that I am missing my Map Sensor that mounts on top of the air induct. I started the bike and the "F1" light came on on my head unit but then turned off. Is it bad the run my bike without this sensor? and how important is it for the engine to run properly? The ECU has no way to tell what the ambient air pressure is at the inlet, so it fails to a default value of 760mm/Hg or 29.92 in/Hg (aka standard sea level pressure). If you're at sea level, not too much effect. I noticed that today when I went for a ride up a local mountain, got around 5000 ft and it ran like crap, got back down to sea level and seemed to run fine.
