Hello to all of the fellow RC51 owners. I wanted to introduce myself and also ask a few questions. I have just recently traded my 06 Honda 450er race quad for a 03 RC51 with 14,000 miles. The bike is in pretty good shape and runs really good and I am getting used to the power of this bike. my last bike was a 03 gsxr 1000 but I ended up selling that bike about 5 years ago so I could buy a house.

So now I have this RC51 that is bone stock other than being geared down 1 in the front. I really like the bike and I don't need anything faster so this is going to stay for quite some time.

How many RC51's where ever made? Are they a rare motorcycle?

I am looking at doing all of the normal mods Pair, Flapper, soft rev, and also put some slip-on cans on it. and then just ride the wheels off of it.

The SP2 ('02-'06) was made in greater quantities than the SP1 ('00-'01).
I wouldn't say they are rare. Just less common than other bikes.

However at the rate it seems that they are being parted out, that may change in the future.

Sub do you know the production #'s for the SP1? Just curious.

Total worldwide production seems to hover around 15K for both SP1 and SP2s. There's a production number thread on another popular RC51 forum, FYI.
