Anyone know if Honda put a gear sensor in place? Perhaps its there but just not integrated into the RC51 gauge ... seems unlikely but that is what I am hoping for :rolleyes:. I am trying to work with one of the companies who makes gear indicator displays and we are trying to determine our options. Thanks for any input ...

There was no OEM gear indicator equipped on the RC51.
HealTech (the same company that makes the Speedo-Healer) also makes the GIPro X-type gear indicator.
It reads the gear position from the ECU.

I've got a Datatool one on my track bike, pretty useful, but it's a little bit of work to splice it into the wire harness.

With no sensor how does ECU know position? Maybe RPM based or something similar? But this seems likely to get "confused". Just curious ...
