does anyone know anything about removing the block off plates from the heads on the rc? id like to, but is it worth my time? what kinda power would result, and would it HURT anything, especially without a tune of any kind? and would it make a difference in drivability? is there an alternate source of CCV, i.e. on the transmission or elsewhere to vent this beast? any information is helpful, as no one here in missouri has any real clue about these bikes; too rare around here. thanks for your time :cool:

The reed valves on the valve covers are for the PAIR system.
The crankcase breather hose is attached to a fitting on the cylinder.
The PAIR removal won't add any power, however it may allow more accurate fuel mapping with a power commander due to no additional oxygen dumped into the exhaust from the PAIR system.
It also loses a few pounds of weight.

Ahhh thanks. That helps alot seeing as no one at even a bike shop could gimme a straight answer. I will remove them and go for that power commander :)

You will want to use RTV on the plate or grind the screw off in Subs #2 pic and use the seal there! Discard the rest of the reed valve! That's what I did to my VTX (same set up)! Worked like a charm! I have yet to do the pair mod to my RC! Probably this winter! You don't need to run a fuel manager when doing this mod alone, as it has no hp or air/fuel (increase or decrease) benefit!

Sweet! I have a 05 rc with a slip on d&d system and a turn one carbon snorkel. No tuning done yet and I haven't had any issues with it though I am sure it is running slightly lean. Gets better mileage so I'm sure it does. The computer can compensate slightly for minor mods such as these but I'm no quite sure what the threshold is for that compensation though. So this leads me to my question. Would it run TOO LAN if I performed this mod also with and tune? Thats for the insight fellas :)

This mod WILL NOT effect air/fuel mixture reading enough to warrant a new map or adding a PCIII! It has no horsepower gain what so ever! It is merely for emissions!
