I just bought a 02 rc51 and cant seem to slow the idle down below about 1300 rpm after the bike has warmed up. I have tried pushing in the idle adjustment but it is all the way in.

The "choke" is the black knob on the left, the idle adjuster is a gray knob on the right side near the same position, but behind the right cowl.
If you loosen the Dzus (quick-release) fastener and gently flex the cowl, you can reach in and tweak the adjuster.
You rotate it left or right to adjust idle.
The idle speed is 1300 +/- 100 RPM at normal operating temp.
Sounds like your bike is idling ok.
