McWag 06-07-2011, 10:03 PM No it wasn't me. I don't know anyone else with the RC and I've only rode with one once, guy had flat black fairings on his. Would love to ride with some though. I normally ride out Hickory to Ballahack Rd. and such .
HOOVY 06-08-2011, 10:51 AM The one at the sow had a flat black nose piece with #'s and he was black with short braids in his hair. Then last fri or sat evening we past a real nice one headed north on Glenside. Only 2 I've seen since we've been here.

CBXJOHN 06-24-2011, 06:13 AM Erbgottie,
Are you in Dayton, next to Bridgewater, Harrisonburg? If so, I'm only 30 miles away from you. We should get together for a ride, I went up 250 to Monterrey, down 220 to Franklin WV, then 33 to Harrisonburg over Memorial Day.
John
HOOVY 06-25-2011, 09:22 PM You guys need to get together most definitely, and get the roads warmed up for us !!! There is one other guy up in sugar grove that would be interested but I can't think of his screen name. I'll remember and hook him up on here too!!! He is from Tidewater but got mover to SG, and LOVES IT !!!
I have been home the last 2 weekends and Lord willing be home for good in 2 to 4 weeks !! :D Nt long after that I'm gonna be out there with you guys. Might take a week or two to get my bike strength back but I'll be there :D
RIDE SAFE GUYS !!!!!! Hoovy
CBXJOHN 06-26-2011, 06:29 AM Hoovy, glad you are getting stronger. I'm organizing an informal rally in September for the CBX boys in the ICOA , I'm tentatively looking at Monterrey, or perhaps Franklin WVA, if you are up for it, I'd love to have you join us. We ride all day, eat well, drink beer at night.......................HEAVEN!!!!! it's always a help to have more "local" tour guides to show off our local "honey holes" :D
John
HOOVY 06-26-2011, 09:51 AM John,
You know if I'm able I'll be there!!! Just had another guy in Millboro buy an 06 RC51. Haven't met him yet but he works with one of my riding buddies !
Hey we are trying to put together a cruise in type thing for Bath Co sometime in Aug. When I get more info I'll post it and keep you up to date too. We are trying to find a place to have it right now, only a couple choices.
Ride Safe Hoovy
erbgottie 08-12-2011, 07:37 PM Just trying to let people know who are in the general VA area, there is going to be a CCS/ASRA races on the 24/25 of September down at VIR. I was wanting to go on the 24th (Saturday) just wondering if anyone else would be interested, let me know if you are and we can try and set something up.
James
Revolution 08-20-2011, 09:08 AM On another note, I'm moving to Richmond. Not sure how long before I'm there but it'll be soon enough.
Hotbrakes 02-26-2012, 05:01 PM There has only been one RC51 at the Show on Broad St and it was ROUGH. Been tracked , and down several times. Sad :( Hoovy
You are mistaken...it has been enjoyed and put to good use. That bike taught me everything I know and if you went to the CCS races at VIR in September you would have witnessed a decent demonstration of the lessons taught, but on a RWB 1000RR.
Anybody still around the Richmond area? I'm picking up another RC after selling mine like an idiot to the guy who goes to bike night. Unfortunately this one will be all track. But the gf and I go to QSL quite frequently, she rides a naked bed linered Ninja 650 and I'm usually on the Super Duke. We rode an orange KTM supermoto there a few times last year.
HOOVY 02-29-2012, 06:19 PM It may be used for what it is built for but not attractive to be at a bike show. And if you think riding the track and sliding across the track destroying your bike is cool, we just have different tastes. I have spent MANY hours at VIR and have a couple track records so I know the thrill of the track. I even have a east coast championship in American Iron. I think a dedicated track bike is the way to go there. I remember seeing the 650 and thinking " WHAT?" But hey dif strokes for dif folks, and that was different :) Love the duke but don't remember seeing it. ENJOY !!!! HOOVY
Hotbrakes 02-29-2012, 10:11 PM A car guy eh?
Once I got a track bike I pretty much quit riding the RC. It is not a street bike, even with all the silly lights and mirrors. It's a fun bike to ride, but there are much better for street duty.
QSL is also less of a "bike show" and more of a people show IMO. A field of 50 chromed HD's, 40 Gixxerrrrs, and 30 stretched Busa's doesn't leave much to look at. But sometimes, on rare occasions, a unique machine shows up. One of those 200 bikes there that has seen its top speed, had its rear hung out entering a corner, survived vicious crashes, only to be revived by its number one fan. That is a beautiful machine. The rest are mere paperweights.
I've been to bike shows, bike week, spent the money on chrome, won a trophy, and those were some boring days and pissed away money. Now I am a championship winning racer, pushing the limits of my beloved machine, and helping others to do the same. I will never own a show bike, they will be ridden and pushed, but the couch and the cage will have low miles.
HOOVY 03-01-2012, 08:46 PM Enjoying it for what it's meant for. I'm 40 and been through a rough 3 years fighting Leukemia and my out look has radically changed. The show stuff couldn't be more boring. Baking in the sun while you could be out riding. The cruse in thing I was impressed with just because of the atmosphere. The freedom to leave when you want. Where I live the RC is the ultimate machine. I live at about 2500' up in the Allegheny Mtns, tons of mtn roads and fun. The cops are great and as long as your not a Jack A your cool with them. Only 30 min from the Blue Ridge Pky. But there are tons of better roads than the Parkway. TAKE CARE !! HOOVY
erbgottie 03-02-2012, 01:21 PM I love th RC on the street, i think its amazing in every way and living next to shenandoah mtn and WV, the old girl proves it to me all the time. To each his own tho and HOOVY whats up my brother, when we going to get that ride on?
HOOVY 03-03-2012, 10:14 PM Haven't for got you, just haven't got to ride any. I only got in maybe 6 to 8 short rides this past Nov & Dec. Had trouble getting my platelets up enough to ride. Gonna be a different story this year Lord willing. Still fighting to get my job back. So $$$ is still very tight and been laying low. We will get something together, had a couple guys ask me about riding while I was out getting supper tonight. We'll get it done!!!! I'll put it on here soon then we can put it together, we might get a good crowd!! Take care ERB :D HOOVY
erbgottie 03-04-2012, 06:06 PM Good luck with your job and i will be looking forward to the day we get to finally meet. If these guys only knew where we lived they'd understand why we love the RC on the street! Until that day my friend.
James
CBXJOHN 03-28-2012, 07:26 AM Hey you characters, (Hoovy and Erbogttie) count me in when you guys are ready to ride. I haven't been on mine yet, (I might take it to work Friday) because this spring has been wet, and my arthritis is killing me.
But this old guy's heart is willing and raring to go, just give me a day we can meet up.
John

Try swimming, it will give you a good work out with low impact to your joints. That will help get rid of your shakes.;)
Cheers to your recovery!
HOOVY 04-02-2012, 08:46 PM My wife swims almost every morning at the YMCA. But I can't swim :( plus I can't get in a local pool like that with my condition ( bone marrow transplant )
I getting ready to start back on my Road Bicycle, hoping too get my legs back and stronger. I used to ride 30 to 40 miles 3 evenings a week and more on the weekend. I lost a lot of strength after the trans, because I couldn't do any exercise. My platelets were too low till early Dec. Last friday was the first time they have been in the regular range, THANK THE LORD :D HOOVY
RIDE SAFE ALL!!
erbgottie 04-03-2012, 09:35 PM Hoovy, i have a present for you once we meet. You'll have to be patient though ;-)
