So after about a 4 hour ride as I was heading home, I was pulling into the gas station and next thing I know my instrument cluster went out. The guys I was riding with noticed my running lights out also. But yet I have signal, brake and headlights. Only light on my cluster that works is my signal light indicator. Any ideas where I should tackle this first?

Any fuses blown??

yea i was going to say fuses first. then start checking for corrosion, bad connections, and shorts

Fuse 'E' (10A) is for gauge panel & illumination, plus tail/running lights.

That is what happened to me when my regulator/rectifier went. Not to long after it started acting up, it went almost completely dead. Bike wouldn't even turn over, gauge wouldn't come on except turn signal indicator. Check fuses like the more knowledgable people above, but keep that in the back of your head as you go through your troubleshooting.
