i have tried my signature as a bbcode and html and niether are working....anyone know why?

I don't think images are allowed in signatures.

What are signatures?

'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc.

Looks like they just made a typo. The people that own this website own other ones that allow pictures in the signatures and they probably just copied the faq over.

I actually like not having signatures, as sometimes you'll get people with huge pictures, or if everyone has a picture in their signature, it gets a little annoying seeing the same pic over and over again while trying to read a thread.
