i'm buying some tires at a really cheap price. will a 210/50/17 or 200/50/17 fit a 2001 rc51 rim?

A 200 will be fine but a 210 I don't know. That might be overkill

Something like that does not become drive.
I have 180/55 17, these have curves driven for themselves there well anyway well.

So etwas wird doch nicht gut fahren.
Ich habe 180/55 17 , da lassen sich die Kurven gut fahren.

A 190/55-17 also works well.
That's what I'm using.

sorry, not allowed in Germany for the street.
You permit only for the racetrack.
There are severe regulations in Germany.
One cannot add everything one likes.

sorry, in Germany nicht für die Strasse zugelassen.
Íst nur für die Rennstrecke erlaubt.
Es gibt in Deutschland strenge Vorschriften.
Man kann nicht alles anbauen, was einem gefällt.

I had no idea they were that strict.
How can you run a 180/55-17 if you can't run a 190/55-17?
Unless both are for track use?

There are regulations to an entry.
I had it for 180/55 17 into the vehicle papers stand.
Everything must be examined by the inspector.
This is expensive.

Es gibt Bestimmungen zu einer Eintragung.
Für 180/55 17 hatte ich es in den Fahrzeug Papieren stehen.
Alles muß vom Prüfer begutachtet werden.
Das ist teuer.

Maybe, but only if you don't want the thing to turn... Just an observation, ;)

+1,000,000

Unless your hanging out at Starbucks, the 180 or 190 is the way to go.

Why would you want to run such a wide tire?
What would be the benefit?

I agree a 200 maybe but anything above that is pointless buy a busa if you wanna run tires like that

The '03 RC I just bought had a 200 on it - if you like to have your bike wobble and feel like it's going to wad up in a corner put a 200 on it. Remember, an oversized tire will "round" out more and have a total parabolic arc - there's no flat spot, so when you're over she is still on a rounded edge and never finds a level plain. It's pretty hairy - I spent the money and put a new 190 on her irregardless of the 200 tire condition that was on there....

Toss a 180 on it and see how much better it turns in.:D

Or a 190/55, similar profile.

Are you riding or styling? If you just wanna look cool,
put a big-ass tire on the rear, but if you're serious about
safety and good handling in the twisties, listen to these
guys - they know what they're talking about. Stay with
a 180 or 190. Period. Your ass is worth more than the $$
you'll be saving.
