: Anyone Want to Ride This Weekend?
jondog9 10-07-2011, 10:16 AM It's going to be perfect weather this weekend. I gotta work sat. morning till noon. Then...
I live in the Sacramento/Foothills area.
Haven't planned a route yet, but that's easy enough around here.
1971allchaos 10-07-2011, 11:17 AM Dam Dog, I would really like to, Yet even if I hurried, and broke MOST all speed limits. I would probably be late...
I admit, I just live on the wrong coast...
Ride, Bsafe...
(P.S- didn't mean to be a S-ass)

rakriege, yeah right! I'd only have to ride 1200 miles round trip. Maybe rcanthony. I think he's beyond the iron-butt thing. :D

jondog9 10-10-2011, 08:39 PM Well, I ended up riding out to French Meadows and back. Mesquito Ridge Road. Some of my favorite twistie stuff. Then dropped down to the confluence on the way back, up Auburn canyon in to Auburn, then 193 accross to lincoln, then back home. About 170 miles, a good 120 of them hardcore twisties. Love carving up all the canyons around here!
Shonuff 10-11-2011, 12:20 AM Very nice ride, John. Wish I could have gone but sadly, I discovered yesterday that I have a nail in my rear tire. Not to mention I havent the funds for a good ride.

Shonuff, I'm probably gonna take a little haranging for this, but I've had 2 nails in my rear Q2. I just can't eat a tire like that. So I went to CycleGear, bought two tire spoons. Then I researched a top-quality rubber contact glue, WeldWood. Then bought patches and did my own repair. I checked air pressure before EVERY ride. I'll post a pic of my scratch sheet. It stayed consistant. I got to examine my first repair when I did the second one. It looked completely sanitary. I got a new tire now, but still getting my last 10% of wear out of the old one.
That's just me, and it probably is risky, but I've been fixing flats of all sorts all my life...
Shonuff 10-11-2011, 08:50 PM Ive been debating on whether I should plug it. Its a brand new tire <700 miles! I am thinking if I do it should be suitable to ride the 3 miles to school and back until it wears enough through the winter to replace it.
jondog9 10-11-2011, 11:06 PM Have you patched tires before? It's totally do-able.
Shonuff 10-16-2011, 10:37 PM John, thanks a lot for helping me with the tire. It was nice riding with you again. Im not sure how to add a link of the route we took on google maps.
jondog9 10-17-2011, 12:11 AM Anytime. The convienence of living so close. I was happily surprised just how awesome the twisties were you got near you. Good job on the route, I don't know where we went. I don't need to. I just know it rocked!
Check your pressure like, every time before you ride. I learned a a lot about the personality of these q2's. This my 4th Q2 back tire. These suckers stick good.
Shonuff 10-17-2011, 02:46 AM Very meticulous. I will have to buy another tire pressure gauge and do a better job of keeping it away from my dog. But here is the route we took: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=209323344153015334142.0004af79af1289cd4fbd 3&msa=0
