I own a 2003 Rc51 and love the bike however i would love to put frame sliders on it or a crash cage from freestyle inguetity however they don't make one for my bike and was wondering if anyone knew if one of the other honda bikes had a similar frame so i could get a cage for that bike and do little or no modififation to the cage any help would be great

You could put frame sliders on. You'll have to cut the fairing.

Racing 905 makes both racing and stunt armor for an RC51.

Hope that helps.

Thanks mud that helped me out alot. and for those of you that are worried i'm not about to start stunting my bike. i just like the way they look and feel on a bike i'm hoping someone makes a subcage for my bike as well

I was pretty interested in that race frame they have. I just haven't had the funds to buy it yet. It's a pretty nice way to keep you bike safe in a low side or minor accident. I just curious as to how heavy they weigh. I don't like adding extra weight if I don't have to, but the upside is way less parts to replace if you go down.

well i had a powers stuntworx cage on my gsxr 1000 and it saved my legs from getting broke when i hit deer doing 90 mph it added probly aobut 15 lbs but that was for a full cage a race rail would probly only add 5 or so i'm guessing and trust me they save alot of money from tip overs and low siding lol mine saved my gsxr a few times lol

That's great info. Glad to here you didn't get any major injuries to yourself and your ride. This is definitely moving me towards adding one to my RC.

I wonder if the race cage offers that much protection. I think its kinda a bar across the side fairings, and a $160 is a small price to pay for that much protection IMO. I thinking if I get a speedcell battery that should compensate for some of the added weight.

Thanks for the info

Kris

well it saves the sides of your bike and a race rail shoul offer more than enuf protection however in regards to your last comment the gsxr was total i snappped the frame in two places and bent everthing else the cage saved my legs from when the bike slammed down on it's side but thanks it's nice to still be alive and riding

I thought about getting the cage instead of the sliders. and after installing the sliders i wish i had . They barely clear the fairings. They might save the stuff under my fairings but they prolly wont save much else lol.
