Currently running Conti RaceAttack Streets in 120/70-17 and 190/55-17.
When they wear out, will shift over to lower cost tires.
Either Conti SportAttacks or Bridgestone BT-016 which are about the same price.

I'd love to continue using Pirelli Corsa III's, but they got too expensive.
Here in Florida, no matter how to try, you wear out the middle of the tire too quickly.
So it hurts when you have hardly worn sides and worn out middles.

i am giving the rosso's a try they stick as good as corsa III and last longer so far so good but had a nice 90 mph turn on it and it felt good now just got to push faster

i ran the dibalo rosso and loved them for handling but i want a tire that handles good but last a long time i only got about 5000 miles out of the rosso on the rear tire was thinking of running diablo strada's but didn't know if they got any better milage than the rosso i think jgoso929 said he was running strada's not sure if that was on this forum or on speedzilla

I recently put a Pilot Power on the rear and i'm impressed, I even went from a 190/50 to a 180/55 and it turns in like a dream and inspires confidence.

5000 is decent for a torque monster alot of sport bike tires you are looking at getting 3-4000 miles cause if you want really good grip they wear fast i had stradas on my fz1 and i liked them they held all way over tell i hit gravel then they failed but i did drag my plastic will they still stuck on them good wear life also

i know you didn't ask, but i haven't worn a set of road 2s out yet:cool:

macadams lasted 10-12kms on my old gixxer 750s. roads lasted 17kms on my gixxer 1000.

my 98 gix750 came with a dunlop 207. it lasted 3500kms!!! i took it easy for the first 1600kms to break the engine in. mind you, after that i lived on one wheel! that was the last soft tire i've had.

I just got 4,000 miles out of the BT016's that I had.
The V-Twin is hard on tires and I don't help matters either, I am acceleration junky. :D
I just ordered a new set from compacc.com for $260 with free shipping; 120/50 front and a 190/50 rear tire.

i don't ride too hard any more. i'm getting old, 36. i don't use the tire out to the edge. my chicken strips are fairly narrow though. when i had macadams i noticed they were not sticky. then the pilot roads came out and they were an improvement. they felt better and lasted longer. now the road 2s are out and they are another improvement. i won't reach the road 2s limit.

to me the extra mileage far outweighs the loss in grip. it's not even close.

The chicken strips are narrow on my bike also. I ride hard, but don't think I can out ride the tire. I'm gonna try the Road 2's or the Dunlop Roadsmarts next go round.

I had no chicken strips I my tires that I just had replaced.
I am an old fart that rides hard, but now I have to break in fresh tires...not fun!

breaking in tires doesn't take long. not nearly as long or as annoying as breaking in a motor.

Currently running on Dunlop Sportmax Qualifiers. Very happy with the tires and the price. Quick warm up time for the tires also.

So far I like the Qualifiers better than the Corsa's that come on the bike(CBR)!
I have a set of Qualifiers ready to go on the RC. I may save them for my wifes CBR, or just put them on the RC.
My dealer was offering Qualifiers for $258 for the set!

Pilot Power 2CT's on mine. I like them. The grip is good, but I'm getting more aggressive as I get more familiar with the bike. I'll know more as time goes by, but they seem to be well designed.

I just installed Pilot power 2ct on my RC. I went with the 190/55 rear and I'm glad I did. I haven't been to aggressive with them yet as I need to break them in. I have a feeling that they will wear quickly.

Been running the Diablo Rosso's on the track, no complaints, probably going with the Diablo Corsa III next time

I really liked the Corsa III's.
I'm just having to shift to lower cost (not cheap) tires since I have to replace them frequently.

If you plan on turning I would do it slow on those shinko's. They are not a good tire for any kind of aggressive riding.

Yeah the rear alone used to be $250.
Now that they're coming down in price, I may be able to buy a set to try.
So far the Dunlop Q2's are not bad.
But I try different brands just to see how they affect handling.

I am running the Pilot Pure's. 180/55/17 rear.

$335 for the set, installed.

Previously I was running the Pilot Power (non 2ct) So far, the Pures are better hands down.

I've had Dunlop Qualifiers (2sets), Michelin Pilot Powers, Dunlop Qualifier 2's and will probably stay with the Dunlop Q2's. I have the 190/55 on the rear dual compound and it seems to hold regardless of temps. I ride year around and here in Kansas it can be 100+ or -20. Michelins just seems to never heat up while riding in cool air.
Hope that helps............... Average 4K depending on how hard I ride.

Just put a set of Metzeler M3s on today. So far, so good. These got really good reviews, but I found that most sport tires out there get good reviews, too. Anyone have any good tips for breaking in new tires? Just want to do so safely.

Michelin Pilot 2ct (medium soft) for street and Pilot race for track love them. I am thinking of going with the pure next season I hear there great.
