This one is top choice

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RC51-VTR1000...3&cmd=ViewItem

but it won't work until you have some other engine modifications done like camshafts and high comp pistons.

Simon is a member here and you can ask him for details.

And a used version for sale at a very good price by a forum member.
That price is $1000 less than it originally cost.

This is wrong, wrong, wrong. This was discussed less than one month ago and sorted out. It works just great with stock engines.

Let's not scare people away from a perfectly good exhaust for stock bikes.

Where is the proof Makis' assessment wrong?? Are there dyno numbers published somewhere that I missed?? The post you linked that sort this out is plausible at best.

It is a nice exhaust but I have a tendency to go the route Makis advised. I believe gts455 has cams that he was planning on dropping in and subsailor has or is actively seeking cams. Which they each have their own agenda...(gts455 is an HRC whore.)

Past history tells me that full exhaust for this bike, to get optimum performance, require other significant mods (Mods above $300 Air box, snorkel, cams, heads ported etc...)

http://www.rc51.org/ has a dyno section. Look how each exhaust was tested and the modifications listed.

So cut Makis some slack, I tend to lean that he ,more than most here, is a pretty good wrench and give sound advise.

Let's face it, not everyone is going to buy the HRC replica exhaust for the price tag. When they do, I would venture a guess they already have or are planning on doing one if not all of the mods listed above.

kantiflas good luck on our search. If you have not, please read the .org website. There is a lot of great information you should consider.

I'm going to save some $ and go to Pep Boys and get a couple watermelon shooter mufflers that the kids put on their Civics!

There are a lots of posts noting the difference between HRC and the ladybird version, from Simon himself too (who sells the system),... namely that the ladybird replica uses smaller diameter pipes to make it work well with a stock engine.
Even the ebay link notes it is a street based version of the HRC exhuast! http://www.ebay.com/itm/RC51-VTR1000...3&cmd=ViewItem
http://www.speedzilla.com/forums/hon...replica-5.html
http://www.speedzilla.com/forums/hon...installed.html

Did you check the original Makis ebay link? The dyno #s and graph is there.

The exhaust does just fine on stock engines, no need to get in the quagmire of "optimum". In fact the people running them on the bikes at this time are near stock afaik (whtwngs, plastic maggot, etc). All I'd suggest is more mods will give more power on this exhaust but that is the general case with all exhausts.

Engine work is not much of an option for the RC51. There are no more good cam options from what I've read for the RC51, and overbore kits are so expensive almost no one has ever done it. If the exhaust is linked to these mods only then they would never sell.

As for buying this exhaust, I was so close to pulling the trigger, never with any consideration of adding any engine mods to the bike. The exhaust is just way cool and way rare and that is good enough for me. So I doubt I'm the only one who would put it on a stock bike. I decided not to go that way because I like picking up hot chicks for a ride.

C'mon all. I'm just trying to make sure the correct info is out there and that Simon Kobe who made a huge investment in the RC51 community doesn't have to deal with misleading posts on his products. Let's make sure the community knows the right info.

Makis knows his stuff for sure. But no one is perfect. Certainly not me either, with my temp light post of all things, . Let's all try to help put the right info out there.

The ladybird will be fine with a stock system. You should not see any drops in the powerband. Simon had provided a Dyno on a stock bike and it picked up in a few places but no drop offs. Cams etc if you can find em will only enhance this system.......damn i miss my SP1.
