What do you experts think of this purchase?

I am up thinking of the purchase of my 04 rc51 today. Actually I put a deposit and picking it up on Friday. It has 14,780 miles all the fluids where changed new brakes, new seals on the forks, Jardine high mounts and pcIII. The guy was asking $6400 and ended up getting it at $5700. The bike sounded great, fired right up, I checked pretty much everything I could look at and besides two little nicks the bike was absolutely clean. the guy had all the receipts for the work. Before I take possession, did I pay too much? did my love for the rc51 make me blind. I looked at two other ones with less miles but they were mangled. I live in the ny/nj areas and the prices have been around that but I need to sleep better tonight. Give it to me honestly.

Sounds just a tad high for my area, but if it checks out-good deal. I hope you pulled the side fairings before you plunked down the cash. My policy: I never buy a bike until I see under the hood.
That's really low mileage, so I bet she's pretty healthy.
Valve clearance check is coming up at 16,000 miles.
What mods?

ok thanks for the info. the seals were just done on the forks and all of the fluids have been changed, brakes were done, he also put KN oil and air filter in and is going to give extra filters for the bike too. I gave him $200 deposit and I going to think about it till 10am and make my final decision.

That price may not be too bad considering if condition is overall well on it. I would definitely pull the fairings off just to take a look. I picked mine up NJ feb of this year at 4k with 17k mi. but had some cosmetic work that needed addressing.

What did you decide? Did you end up picking it up?
