Am I ready for a RC51?

I've been riding for about 3yrs now I'm looking to buy a RC51. I currently own a 94 zx7r and I'm wondering if I would be ready for a 1000 . Any advise or suggestions I will consider.

The RC will give you linear power as opposed to the in-lines which will be rpm driven. The torque is exceptional. It's stability is also stellar. It's not the lightest or most nimble, BUT it's still very forgiving. I went to the RC from a CBR 600 and I haven't looked back...

You will never go back

If you have been riding for 3 years I am sure you can handle an RC51. At street cruising speeds the bike performance isn't that much different then any in line machine. The way you use the throttle will change. You have a lot more tourqe in the low end. Just take it easy for awhile untill you get used to it. Once you have owned an RC riding any other bike just isn't the same. Have fun and be safe.

I also have driven 3 years ZXR. Then 5
years of super hawk. now the 3rd year RC51.
the torque and the motor traction are different than at 4 cylinder engines.
the engine brakes is stronger than at 4 cylinder.
one must switch also less by the torque.
I hope,her have me understood.

Ive been riding a R6 for a year and a r1 for 2 years and im getting ready to move to the 51. Im telling you the test ride for 15 minutes alone was enough for me, im sold

BTW, what year bike did you find? Dealer/private? I bought mine last summer, 1200 original miles, SP2, 2003. I think I paid too much, $7K, but the bike is like brand new, had tons of Honda factory spares (former owner was a Honda MC tech) and Leo Vince slip on exhaust and chain sprocket change.

I've been riding 36 years, I chuckled, the 29 year old owner was "warning" me of the savagery of the RC, HO-HUM compared to the arm straightening ability of an Gixxer 1000, CBR 1000, or R1,. Sorry, Liter bikes I find are much more EXPLOSIVE than the RC in acceleration. But none offer the cool accelerative traction in corners, SEXY MUSIC of the motor, or classic styling. I've had the rockets, this bike is da shit!

I think the Ducati 1198S or 1098R will be quite the arm straightening experience for a V-twin.
A twin with 170 to 180 HP and 97 Ft/Lbs of torque with a dry weight less than 400 Lbs would be a LOT of crazy fun.

Visited a Ducati dealer today.
Glanced at the 1198S price tag and saw around $23000.
They also had a 1098S Tricolore and 1098S.
Nice bikes, but too much for my paycheck.
