my first RC51ˇˇˇ

Finally I bought the bike, its a 2006 model and it has only 3300 miles, it had a crash but there is a minimum damage and it was repared, will have to replace the rear tire because 200/50/17 is installed and the driving sensation is weird, it has Xenon ligths but will replace with original to avoid electrical problems, the bike runs graeat but it is more rigid than my other bikes and after 4 hours driving it in higway I have a backache and wrist painˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ

Instead of the 200/50-17 (way too wide a tire), try a 190/55-17.
You may be surprised at the handling response.
Also have you tried adjusting the preload and damping adjustments?
That may be one cause of the harsh ride.

Hello Subsailorˇ
Thanks for the answer,I adjusted the damping in compresion (21 clicks out from hard, the rebound damping 2 turns out from hard) in front suspension, the preload 8 turns out from hard)

in the rear suspension I put preload in position 5, rebound 1.5 turns out from hard and compresion 6 clicks out from hard.
I found this settings in a link from Sport Rider Magazine but they are for 2005 model, I guess they are applicable to my 06 model. ( or not????)
, I'll take a ride and try the new settings because yesterday was raining .

Honda changed the shock design in '02, so yours should be the same.
Depending on your weight, riding style, and road quality, you may need to play with the settings to better suit you.

Nice looking bike!
Yeah the RC is more rigid than most sportbikes! Not really a touring style bike, but it can be done!

Welcome Enrique! Score!!! Sweet bike, and so low miles. Sounds like you got a handle on the suspension. I'm going through the final tweaking of adjusting mine too. I'm only 185 lbs. (85Kg?) with gear, and my stock 2000 suspension is pretty stiff. But the razor sharp handling--muy bueno!!!

There's a few good threads on tires, my favorite is 'Best Tires...'. This thread was started in Aug 2008, so the more current and up to date info is in the second half of that 9 page thread. Lots of good info and opinions...

Dood, how do you make those upside down exclamation marks?!
