Question cf rearsets

I was checking out some rearsets at carbonparts the other day and they are almost completely carbon fiber. My question is that are they really strong enough to withstand a heavy rider riding aggressively? I'm about 230 and put alot of weight on the pegs. My main concern wouldn't b downforce as much as side to side force snapping them. They really look cool as hell I just want to know if anyone here has had any experience with these, any info would be appreciated.

Well lets think about that.... there are cf forks, cf wheels, cf subframes, cf frames, cf swingarms, and so on.... id be willing to be if a reputable company made cf rear sets they would be weight and stress tested to well exceed the forces you could put on them. If there was a limit they would have to state such for liability reasons... and if you were anywhere near that limit I wouldnt risk it... where did you see them at?

If I recall, those were a prototype set that Mark made for himself.
Is that correct Mark?

i have made several sets for myself and rode them for years. i have also sold a few sets as well over the years with no issues.

factually the carbon is mamy times stronger then aluminum of the same weight so in theory they can be lighter and stronger but facts don't go too far these days.

the market for $500 custom bling items has all but dried up sadly but yes they are strong and yes i had the bike suspended on them b4 the bolt holding the footpeg broke LOL. i drove a car on some plate and it did not even bend and i got the fake camera drivel so i stopped even trying to post things about them as nicky haden does not use them so why should you right ? J/K

the pegs and peg bolts are the weak links on any rearset and there is nothing carbon plate can do to fix that.

thorsten dubahn made some a decade ago and had no issues either FWIW. the reason you don't see them is cost mostly. you can churn out $600 billet rearsets for under $100 on a mill in minutes and the cost to make carbon ones is many more then that and alot of labor for very little return.

people in general are ignorant and non visionary. The word carbon fiber to most for some reaosn means weak WTF? i sell carbon bars for clip-ons and people are like they might break in your hands LOL but hollow aluminum tube is stronger LMAO it is like talking to a wall

in all seriousness i am currently working on a hollow formed seamless rear wheel stand. the prototype is many times lighter and so far stronger then steel stands but bet your arse even if i have a mack truck not be able to destroy it i will get the haters, it is automatic. motorcycling and modding used to be fun now it is a sad state bikers and the forums are in i do hope it swings arounds so more companies don't stop making parts are we are bored and lulled to death

Yeah, I have seen many things made from carbon fiber and know it must be a very sting material if it is put together rite. Mrgrn has the website at the bottom of his post that's were I saw them. they truly are nice looking sets and reasonably priced.Guaranteed not too many people got a set of those. check em out.
