New to Honda/RCs...

Hi all -

Just joined to learn more about my 00 SP1...

Been riding for about a year and a half, and my only personal bikes have been Ninjas... I borrowed a friends SuperHawk for a weekend, and instantly fell in love with the V-Twin sound and TQ, so off I went in search of a bike for me.

Fast forward to last week - I picked up an 00 RC51. Absolutely in love with the bike! I will admit it's harder to ride than I thought (the clutch will bite you if you're not careful) and doesn't quite have the same refined feel of the modern liters I have ridden, but makes it that much more enjoyable!

Anyways, looking forward to learning more, and maybe meeting some of you in person!

-Justin

Welcome to the forum. What part of CA are you from? I'm in Sacramento area, lots of great riding in this state, especially the northern half.
Congrats on the bike! I've had mine for three years and I still feel like you said every time I ride it. And it can still out-ride me, if you know what I mean. These bikes a very capable if set up right.
Fling some pics up, and tell us more about the bike. What mods have been done?
Here's a great site, it belongs to LDH, one the members here.

Oh now you wanna be all helpful about what to buy...after I bought my LBs before my Ohlins

Welcome to the Forum and the RC. The "piggy" as it is called is a fun bike and you'll come to love it.

Post some pix, or you'll upset the "unlightened" ones

2001 SP1 (sold)
2004 SP2 (properly stored)
2012 Ruckus (stolen)
2015 Grom (under construction)

Weyrauch pronounced (Y Rock)...Rock for short.

I'm also in Sacramento!

I have a few pics, the that's the only one that really turned out to be halfway decent.

As for mods - Penske rear shock, rebuild/revalved/sprung front forks, 530 chain, 42 tooth rear sprocket, power commander, Jardine exhaust, carbon front fender, LED tail light, emissions gear removed, and quieting gears removed.
