Finally got it

Just picked up my new toy this past Saturday, drove two hours to get it, took one spin down the road and i fell in love. My colelge roomate had one of these, i had an R1 i wantedt one back then but couldnt afford 2 bikes, so nice of who ever stole my R1 to have done that to me haha, becuase now i have this. Its got just under 12,000 miles on it, its a 2001, for it for 4,000 with a helmet and jacket and new tires, so the 2 hour drive was well worth it even if it did cost me 100000 in gas in my friends truck. Let me know what you guys think.

Sob....that looks like my first RC...If you call Erion, they will re-sleeve that can for you for next to nothing. I bought a used set of Erions cans and loved them.

Good find! I love seeing those first day pictures. I've bought 4 bikes and brought em home in the back of my truck, so whenever I see one in the back of a truck (picture) on this forum, it means someone just scored another RC51! Takes me back. Makes me think of starting a thread for people to post 1 or 2 of their 'first day' pictures. And if it was a project or needed fixing, their 'after' pictures.

Only 12K mi., sweet. Looks real clean too. Welcome to the forum and get ready to fall in love with your RC

John, 2000 RC51 #000100
