What is it with HD riders?

I went to the gun show this morning and parked the RC outside. No bikes there yet.
I came out latter and there were about fifteen bikes I was the only sport-bike. The rest were cruisers and mostly HD's.
I went to my bike and started to get ready to leave. Four large HD guys, black vests with patches all over, next to me started to talking between them selves loud enough for me to clearly hear. All the jap crap, sport-bike, stuff and so on.
I got ready to go. Before I left I asked them why would anyone ride a plow horse when they could ride a thoroughbred. They looked at me and then I told them that is because they do not have the ability to. I put on my helmet and gloves and left.
What is it with this guys ?

when you favor a design that came out in 1936, it doesn't leave a lot of room for modern thinking.

When someone is narrow minded that's the mentality...I see the allure of all bikes HD included but some people never see the forest for the trees.

Don't sweat it as I can honestly say and I will...you were the coolest mf at the gun show!

Remember some folks of the human race are scared of the things they know nothing about.....and the race bikes scare the living shit out of a majority of its narrow minded inhabitants.

I have been put in that position before and don't mind telling the HD lemmings about their Chinese made fenders and chrome accessories. Case closed.

I would hold my ground, but I wouldn't be saying anything like that if I'm alone and there's several of them. Some of those guys are hardcore about Hardly-ism and get confrontational with you in a second. It's all posturing, but still, I don't invite it.

I once told a HD ride that he was simply a passenger on his bike. That he would never experience the thrill and joy that i do because he didnt know how to..

He had no reply

I think when you buy into the lifestyle that is harley, the actual ride becomes
secondary to the image.

Thus creating what i like to refer to as "parking lot posers"

Exactly, we buy bikes to ride, they buy into a phony lifestyle.
