exhaust sound

so i find myself in the unfortunate but somewhat enviable position of having to replace the exhaust on my sp1. i'd prefer to go CF and not with a banzai or high mount so the new options are limited - 2bros, hindle, GPR and found a few new sets of akro's too. there are a few nice used options around, but sp2 so that means some extra work with modding an sp2 header. in terms of priorities sound is at the top of the list and looks/price are a close second.

what say the collective minds here on what sounds the best? i know this is a subjective thing but just wanted to get some feedback. i'm coming from cf satos if that matters at all.

also - what are my options for running non-sato cans on my sato ti mid pipes? are the inlets on the major aftermarket mfr's the same? so could i run just a set of cans from an sp2 system on my sp1 sato mid pipes?

thanks for the input.

Get the Ladybirds from Simon...do a search on eBay, you cannot miss. I like my Satos but could be talked into an even swap for the Ladybird GP cans....they have to be unbelievably loud as hell

hehe - i like loud but i don't want' obnoxiously loud. and tbh, i prefer more of a deep rumble which is why i'm kind of leaning to akros at this point, but their cost...

My .02:

Micron-VERY similar in sound to SATO. Deep growl-very muscular.

Akra- Deep, a little softer than the Micron, deep softer tone.

2Bros- Loud, cruddy, but loud. (basically straight 2" pipe with BS baffles)

Those are the kits I have personally owned. The only one that was standard mount was the Akra, Micron isn't made anymore but is still available. I haven't yet heard an RC with GPR and they are readily available as are the Yosh's.

2001 #62. Ohlins rear/valves, Micron high mount, HyperPro damper, SharkSkinz, Tyga billet triple clamp, Tyga Carbon Fiber fender and hugger, Ti bolt/custom subframe/alien motion 8 cell diet, 15/41 520, COP conv. PCIII, Venhill lines, modified air box, turn signals in headlights...<deep breath> ZG Touring windscreen, Tech G rear sets, CRF450 rear master w/HRC cover, Tokico 6 pots w/V-pads, CRG Bar end mirrors, PSR Shorty levers-use only clutch, wanna-be basic racer paint, Roman Gold PC wheels

I love the Satos...also Akro and Yosh have a nice deep bass.
The Ladybird full size cans are not obnoxiously loud like the GP's.

Syncro Simonkobe is a member here and on Speedzilla...he has adapters for most major exhausts.
I know of a set of Akro carbons for an SP1 and the fellow is talking about letting them go...I will probably get first crack at them.

that's like telling a thirsty man wandering in the desert you know where to get an ice cold beer, and then telling him you will enjoy drinking it as well.

Considering mines an SP2 I was just considering them for a quick flip. If I can get the right number, I wasn't planning on doubling my money just a quick flip, since the exhaust is right here in the lower mainland it would make sense to flip it to someone local.

I'm not going to make any promises because the last time he contacted me to buy something he flaked.
