Plug n play LED tail light bulbs?

My tail is stock and I want to keep it that way. But I would like some brighter bulbs in my tail/brake lights. Does anyone know if there are any LED bulbs that will plug into the stock sockets? I don't want to have to do any wiring, etc. I just want to pull out the stock bulb(s) and put in some LEDs for additional brightness. Factory turn signals are in place, so that is not an issue, this is only for the tail light and brake light. Thanks.

I'm running their lights in my hotbodies and the in the Euro marker mod I did a few years back.

I think Sonic is looking for something in a LED with the same base as his current regular taillamp bulbs (true plug and play). The LED listed in the link shows a plug in lamp base not the insert and turn base the normal taillights have. I've seen those out there but don't remember where i saw him.

We discussed this last Wed. when we were out riding.

I think you need this adapater to work with that blade-type bulb. The photos don't show the other end, so I can't tell if those wires go to a plug-and-play that fits into the stock bulb socket, or if you have to install this socket into the stock housing and splice into the stock harness.

It's a wedge bulb (3157 sounds right? Not sure?), not a turn in like 1156/7 bulbs. The bulb holder does turn to lock it into the tail light housing.

If you get an LED bulb, get one that shoots sideways just like the stock filament style bulb. Regular incandescent blubs shoot light out in all directions, Led's focus their light in one direction. The stock tail light housing is designed to work with an incandescent bulb by redirecting and focusing all of the light that would otherwise be wasted back at the red lens. A couple LEDs shooting right at the red lens is never going to be as bright. Honestly, you will have a hard time finding an LED bulb that is plug and play and is actually brighter than the $0.50 bulb that came with the bike. The new bikes with LED tail lights use housings designed for LEDs. Slapping them into our housings isn't a solution in my opinion.

This blub will just shoot the light straight back, and won't be as bright as stock:

Something like this would be better:

I'm always right.

Also, just to clarify for anybody wondering, the xx56 bulbs are single filament/intensity, and would be used in a non-running light turn signal application.

The xx57 bulbs are dual filament/intensity, and are for taillight/brake light applications where there is one dim running light and one bright light.
