High mileage SP1

Good Morning,

I've got a 2000 SP1 with 64 000km (40 000 miles) on the clock which I'm in the process of selling. The bike is in great condition, always starts first time, zero smoke, zero problems. Do you think this is a lot of mileage for one of these bikes? My price is pretty decent, but yet response has been poor. Just wondering what sort of mileage you guys (and girls ) have on your bikes. What sort of lifespan would one expect on a 1000cc twin? Thoughts?

Thanks,
Adrian

I got mine with 20k on the clock(Now 22K) so I can't tell you from personal experience about the RC but my 1200 cc Buell had 12K and now has 60k and still runs like it has 12k

To many that would be considered high millage.
It's kinda a crap shoot buying a bike with that many miles hence the poor response from your ad.

If it was taken care of properly 40K miles is now big deal and could easily go to 80K+ but if it had been abused you may just have bought a head ache.

You probably know .....This motor is strong and semi bullet proof if you don't bounce it off the rev limiter and miss shifts a lot. Regular oil changes is a must too for that kinda life expectancy .

Also being an sp-1 unless your selling it at a considerable price drop over a higher millage sp2 then you may be owning it a while longer.

Good luck selling it!!

awesome, thats double my mileage, always wondered how high it would go. although the engine would prob benefit from a full stripdown and rebuild between 50-60k
