I've tried several and had mixed results. My first was a MotoCom which gave me pretty reasonable results. It was probably the most trouble to use because of the wires for the recorder, power supply, camera and microphone. I was easiest to put everything in a fanny-pack and mount the camera on my helmet. Picture quality and sound weren't too bad. I then tried a self-contained device from Oregon scientific, but it was less than satisfactory. The width of field of the lens was poor and the sound was nothing more than wind noise and not much of that either. I've had the best luck with the GoPro. Picture quality is great and the sound is good too. I mount it on the tank, shooting out through the bubble on my vintage bike and on the Ram GPS mount on my RC51.

I've been using a GoPro video camera for the past 3 years and it fits my needs just fine (FWIW I'm using the older HD Motorsports Hero kit; it's capable of 1080p even though it's not the "latest and greatest" model in the GoPro lineup).

YMMV

+1...GoPro 1080p cameras work great.

I have a Hero HD the original hi-def unit works flawlessly, just a side note my buddy has the lastet and newest GoPro and has nothing but issues with freezing up and charging issues.

If you Google it apparently it is all over the net...

I've had the same problem with the GoPro, but switching to a class 10 card solved the problem.

I never saw the point of a 64G card as the battery is only good for 2 hours and then I just switch out both at the same time...

That depends on how fast you ride in those two hours.....

Ive always wondered what brand cameras are spotted on the rear of the motogp bikes..

Dont have a camera but I think I like the shape of the contour roam better..

Was day dreaming recently that gopro made helmets or teamed up a manufacturer to make lids with cameras butilt in, they could make helmets for all action sports and maybe add in a hud while.there at it.:sly:
