One year anniversary

Well it has been a year since my last wreck. So I would like to take this opportunity to share a lesson learned. ALWAYS ALWAYS WEAR YOU GEAR!!!
The story goes like this. I was scouting a place on the lake to have my son's birthday party, it was a hot day so I took my gear off and went swimming and didn't put my pants or jacket back on. I was only going like 5 miles.. I wont wreck I'll ride good and slow I said. Stuff happens wear your damn gear.
I don't know what is up with the date on the pictures.. trust me I know what day it happened lol.

Dude that sucks...also you can count your lucky stars you're still with us.
I've had a few get offs and I ALWAYS wear my gear, I'm heavily tattooed and I'm keeping them. My rule of thumb...if it's too hot to wear gear it's too hot to ride.

I'm very glad you have changed your views...I'm sure your kid(s) appreciate it too.

Thanks for reminding us to wear our gear!

Damn man... looks like you were in shorts and flip flops.
I always think to myself...
Ok, run as fast as you can... do a belly slide... with no gear.
Owe right ?
Now do it at just 60kmh.... feel better ?? Lol.
Now do it a 140kmh... with no gear... not much left to look at.

Anyways, been down 5 times myself now... was wearing my gear for every single one and I have some bad scars... and a bad limp when it rains. Getting off at 100+ always sucks.
I hope you healed up alright bud.
Cheers !!

Need to make a stickie or two of items like this as friendly reminders to wear your gear. Excellent post, too bad you had to lead by example.

I've thought about that before, but with rashed gear.

Your last wreck? How many have you had? I can understand at the track but damn... I know when I took my license test they said 50% of all new riders will crash within the first 6 months.

Crossing my fingers that it's been 5 years and 20,000+ miles and i'm still upright. Then again I wear a heavy ass leather jacket when it's 95 out along with boots, jeans, gloves, and helmet.

I'd say happy anniversary but it's not really all that happy. Unless you count on the fact that you're not permanently screwed up. Asphalt, the best tattoo remover!

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound
