Dunno if its relevant or not but they wont fit an RC51, dunno if its for the other bike in your avatar

like anything cheap, it'll probably do the job to a certain extent, it just might not do it as well as the $500 damper, but i also bet the $500 damper wont have $425 worth of extra adjustabilty if you looked at it that way as well.

Yeah, if you're down with running rear-sets/clip-ons made of ???, brake rotors made of ???, brake lines made of ???, bodywork made of ???, then why not run mystery damper? You could probably also get knock off chains, oil and crank bearings too.

Steering dampers can lock up. I wouldn't run one of those if you paid me.

I'm always right.

I've seen Ohlins ones do that, just because you blow a wad of cash on something doesn't mean that its any good either, Nowadays with a lot of big name brands a large chunk of the price your paying for is their marketing/advertising/logo, then maybe its some of their R&D your paying for, but the manufacturing by a lot of the company's now is outsourced to CHINA to help boost profits even more.
And when you outsource you loose a bit of quality control.

Christ, for all you know these might be made in the same factory as other "Branded Top Spec" units

And i don't run a Damper on mine...

I don't feel the RC needs a damper, its got a nice stable front end IMO, but then i would check ALL your suspension settings, just to make sure the previous owner hasn't dropped the yokes down over the fork tubes or jacked up the rear to make it steer a bit quicker as this will give the bike a much twitchier front front end.

and is it track or road riding you do?

I ride street. Occasional track. I do need to change my fork oil seals and what not.16k on stock seals. At 5k it felt great all the way till prob 1k miles ago. Its time to the forks. Rear suspension is good from what the local shop says.

Sure, every manufactured product will have a defect here and there. The chances of say an Ohlin's or Matris Damper failing are going to be significantly less, especially when compared to the cheap ebay reproduction. That is also why the big names come with warrantys. Because i bet after a year of use that ebay damper's seals will not be holding up well after riding hard. Whereas with an Ohlins you will get longer life out of it, will performance will not degrade during hard riding, and the best part when those seals do finally start to fail after years of abuse, you can take it down to any ohlins dealer and have it repaired.

You won't get that out of the ebay special.
