Slowest bikes I've ever ridden, but i guess if speed isn't your thing and you dont mind getting beat by honda civics then go for it , If you want a real 250 buy the NSR

I'd choose a 2 stroke 250 over a 4 stroke cookie cutter race replica every time.
CBR250's aren't particularly sought after in Japan...

Euro RC51 SP2: HRC WSB Ti Hi-Level, T1 Airbox & Snorkel, PCIII, Dymag CA5 Carbon Wheels, Ti64 Spindles (F, R & Swing Arm), Mori Link, Maxton GP7 Shock & Ohlins 832 Forks, Brembo GP Calipers & SBK narrow track (F), Braketech Disc (R), Brembo billet Underslung x 2 Brembo RCS, Tyga Triple, 7075 Stem, Probolt Titanium all over, Babyface rearsets, MR Complete Carbon Lineup, Custom Undertail & CBR 1000 LED, Watsen LED Indicators, Harris Brace, Giles clip-ons, Corbin seat, etc. 2013 BOTY.

Yep, I'd be the same, just noticed last week how well RGV250's are holding prices here

but then again if i did go for a smoker i would probably build an RS250 with a pepped up RG500 engine shoehorned in, basically as close to a 500gp bike as i could ever get...120ish bhp and 120kg...nice

do you mean the trx850? the tx750 is a 1970's heap of shit

Always fancied the TRX myself, it was like the unknown and unloved cousin to the SV650, 850cc parallel twin but with a 270 degree crank iirc, trellis framed like a ducati etc

Nice idea, but probably dangerous LOL...
I'm in the process of building a TDR250 with up to date motard suspension, Excek wheels, improved brakes, lighting, etc.
I hear a larger Banshee engine will fit & someone's shoehorned an RD500 engine into one, but I'll make do with a Stan Stephens stage 3 porting job & some decent spannies & cans. A bit heavy compared to today's single cylinder thumper motards, but it's fun to do something a bit different. No pics, but when it's done I'll shoot some...I'm not really much of a build threader LOL.

TRX850's are good bikes & can be made into stonking machines. Cheap to buy too. There's a lot of good older bikes nowadays. Being discontinued, nice condition 2-strokes are going to become more sought after as time goes on I think. Finding a good one is already difficult.

The XS750 triple was a dung heap as well. Worst bike I've ever owned.
My buddy owned the XS650 twin and never had any problems.
