Sp1 part out opportunity?

Hey guys, wanted your opinion on something, I came across a 2000 sp1 for sale in a neighboring state, he said it runs but is need of a "brain" he called it, im assuming just the ecu? He said he replaced injectors, couple other things to try and fix, but still he said the front cylinder is flooding and not running right. He said a new ecu is around 1,000 bucks. Is this true? Its got 20,000 miles on it. The rest of the bike is pretty clean, couple scratches, looks like he layed it over on the right side, aftermarket cans, dented a little on right side, but overall, not awful. He doesnt have a title for it, and hes asking 1400, wondering if there was enough interest on here for sp1 parts, and if I could get my money out of this thing. Sounds like a great deal to me, what do you guys think?
