Longest Rides

What is your longest ride on a Sportsbike? I went 1,600 miles some years ago in three days. Talk about some serious body pain.

If your RC51 doesn't bring you to your knees, you are not a righteous man...lol.

I feel silly trying to compare, but I did 600 miles on a 04 GSXR only stopping long enough to refuel

Over the past 15 years of riding, every bike I've owned has been to prepare me for a RC51

Ha, mine was 3,200 as well (round trip) on a 700 Suzuki. I fell asleep on it crossing the desert in Arizona at 2 AM, so I decided to go faster to stay awake...fell asleep again, then went faster....same thing. Finally I was doing 130 and went to sleep. When I woke up, there was a Jackrabbit sitting right in the middle of the road and I just clipped his tail. Seems I got into a valley and there were Jackrabbits all over the place. I was dogging them for several miles, and that sure kept me awake..haha.

When I lived in Dayton OH. I picked up an 02 RC in Huntsville AL.

I had a friend drive me down and I rode it back. Normally that drive wouldn't have been as long, but do to hwy construction on the way back lowering speeds down to the 35 and 45 in places. It took me 9 1/2 hours to ride back only stopping for gas.

Luckily it did have a sergeant seat on it.

I don't care what any motorcycle riders say, there is nothing quite like being wrapped around a stuffed FULL tank bag, just laying on it and guiding your bike down the road like you are straddling a powerful rocket.

In '95 I took a trip to Key Largo, FLfrom NJ to see family on a ZX7R. Trip down took a day with a stop at South of the Border. Trip back I did in 22hrs straight. Bags stacked behind me as a rest and a manual cruise control. When I got home parked the bike in the garage, stripped off my gear and slept for the 10hrs. I Don't advise it.

About 400 miles of hard/fast riding in one day on a Superhawk in the Texas Hill Country in the Summer, which was stupid. Almost put myself in the hospital from dehydration alone.

2003 RC51, Ohlins rear shock, Sato clip-ons, 15/42 DID520 Xring, Moriwaki low mount slip-ons and midpipe, Scotts steering damper, BT016s (currently)
