Riding to a trackday

I don't have my F150 anymore and I don't have a hitch on my car. Has anyone or does anyone ride to trackdays? Good idea, bad idea, or horrible idea?

You gotta do what you gotta do. I rode 2 hrs each way to my first few track days. I'd rather ride track than not, 10X over. But if you end up enjoying/doing track, get the support transport.

I would always trailer my R1 to the track just in case.. The track before was 2.5 hours away from my house. I'm thinkin I'm just gonna ride it there

Well, just make sure you have the proper equipment with you (tools, duct tape for lights, full gas, etc...). Your street bike likely won't pass inspection for the track.

You might be tired riding home too, but I've heard of people doing it. You can also try the local track forum and see if you can hitch a ride.

Good luck, and post pix.

Have someone follow you in a car.....they can shoot pictures while they wait.

I will get the bike ready at the track. Its not that hard. I'm just a lil nervous about a mechanical or something.

Bad idea you need to much equipment for a track day to haul on a bike. You need 5 gallons of extra gas, a lot of water and the list goes on. Not to mention the fatigue physically and mentally of a day at the track would make a hour ride home tough. I like riding home with dry clothes and air conditioning. Plus there's always the chance braking something or of going down. Add a hitch and rent or borrow a trailer or get hitch carrier there's a couple guy's at the track that use them and they actually work good.
