Speedo Healing

Hey gang, I have read a lot of good info hear about speedo healers and the like. I just completed my first mod by going from 40t to 42T and feel a pretty good difference. I assume now my speedo will be even further off center, but how can I determine how far off I am ? My first Dyno run is tomorrow, can that give me any indication on how far off I am ?? Thoughts ??

Well, there are calculators over on rc51.org that may help but I just jumped on, drove at a certain indicated speed and looked at my GPS that I had suction cupped to the tank.

That is really the best way to figure it out. From there, you calculate the difference and enter it into the speedo healer.

Assuming you changed to a [I]bigger[I] sprocket you're closer to correct, not farther off.
This might help.

Scroll down to RC51 Gearing Calculator and click on it. It'll launch Microsoft Excel. If you have that on your computer, it'll open up a worksheet. This show your speedo reading in completely stock gears and tires. Print that sheet. Then go up to cells B2, B3, B4 and input your info. You want a pretty accurate measurement of your tire. Excuse me; tyre

If you need any help with Excel, I can offer that.

Funny, I just got a healer too. should be here anyday. I figure I'm off by about 11%. Not ideal for my odometer...

Ok, plenty of people on this forum use them and I have yet to hear a complaint. Looking forward to 'healing'.

So are you 15/42 now? Whats your front sprocket?

I swear by the healer know. Depending on the healer you can actually put in the tire size, and sprocket changes. You can actually put the percentage if you know what it might be

Got the latest version so i hope it has all that. It was about $110. Shopped around online and that's what I came up with.

fo sho. getting a little anxious to get it put on. So far riding around, it seems my speedo says about 90-92 when i'm really doing about 80. Rest of the time I know it's a little fast, but don't pay much attn to it, just watch traffic speed. Gonna be nice to know exact speed...
