Toll Transponder mount

What is the best way to mount a fastlane toll transponder so it will read reliably. I have to pay an extra "fee" if it doesn't read. Is top of the tankbag good or have you figured out a way to mount at the base of the windshield or perhaps the fairing bracket?

These are a variety of passive RFID devices.
Did they provide specs of a orientation it should be mounted to better detect the RF signal?

They only address cars & say it must be mounted on the windshield. They switched to the fastlane system recently & had problems with cars not reading so they instituted a "fine" if improperly mounted. I'll have to stop in at the service station & ask about motorcycles.

Wow...the unit they issue must be terrible compared to the Illinois unit. Unless the state mounts it, how can they fine you??? That seems odd. People I know that have had their unit die , for whatever reason, after they receive their ticket have called the office with their unit ID number and all is well and have another unit issued.

Jacket pocket, or in the rear tail. Plus if your plate is mounted just right they won't see who it was that just blasted through and didn't register if it doesn't work.
