Anyone had there bike to the shop for a setting of the valves lately? How much did they charge?

not sure on the RC51 but last time i had valves done and they were adjustable not shim under or over it was 3.5 hours labor... at 80 bucks an hour.... I prefer to just do them myself.

When I bought mine back in '08, the first thing I did was change all the fluids and check the valves.
The valve check/adjust was $130 by my local independent shop (not dealer).

They need it.

Two hundred sounds fair to me. I heard the Vtech engines run around six hundred dollars, that is one reason I didn't buy an interceptor 25th annaversory edition in the colors my 83 had on it. As for the RC's valves, I wouldn't worry about it if it wasn't ticking but it is... telling me that it needs adjustment. Thanks for your reply.

$150~$200 sounds fair.

Better to err on the side of caution. Keep us posted on the measurements and if there was any changes.
