Importing/Exporting RC51 - SP2

Hey Guys,

Wondering if any one can shed some light or has imported/ exported an RC51

I live in Australia and would be interested to buy an RC51 from a member at some stage as the prices in the states are quiet low compared to here in Aus.

I wouldnt want to register it just have it as a track only set up.

Any info on costs or shipping charges etc would be appreciated. I have done a little reading up on this and it seems freight could be from as little as $400 if the bike is stripped (not Preferred) to $1500 to crate it.

Cheers

Mike

Hey Buddy,

I dont want to ride it on the road at all.
It would be purely a track bike.
You can take unregistered bikes on the track, as long as they pass scrutineering at the track. Which is basically a tyre, brakes check, throttle response, and general overview of the bike.

It wasn't Auz, but I shipped my CBR600 F3 to New Zealand, and rode it around while I was there. It took a bit to sort it out to register it there, like 2 hours or so. Customs were just looking for foreign things that could bugger up the country...bugs in other words, or seeds...They didn't seem to much care about anything else.

Now saying all that, I was the owner, and had always been. Also, totally different country.

Best thing to do is go down and talk to someone if your close. Try to play them off as the one helping you make this happen. Hopefully you have yard close to you.

Good Luck

Aaah! yes i see what you mean now. I did a little more reading and they say the same thing but mainly re: cars and bringing them in for "Racing".

Maybe i will just bring a registered one then...

Off to google i go. Thanks Buddah :-)
