Weekday tires and Weekend tires???

Ok so this has crossed my mind and Im wondering if anybody else has done it
I use my bike as a daily driver going back an forth to work daily about 100miles round trip well it really wears out my Dunlop Q2's and What i wanna do is buy a spare set of rims and put a more touring style tire on those rims and then have my other rims with my good tires on it for Weekend fun. So has anyone ever done this and if so what kinda touring tires did they use. The changing the tires wouldnt be a problem for me I have a full motorcycle shop in my garage lift and all so that isnt a issue with me

I did this with my R1. I ran Pilot Road2 to commute to work and Bridgestone 003's to play.

plenty of people do it and its not a bad idea at all. i don't know much about the different touring tires, but i don't think you will go wrong with Dunlops or Michelins.

Pilot road 2's and 3's are very grippy on their sides.. Do you really think you'd out ride their grip on the street?
You can still drag knees with them, and then commute to work the next day and not flatten them out
