Cool Everything was fine a few days ago!

So I go to my mechanic to check on my uneven forks. He basically told me that the forks have been rebuilt and whoever rebuilt em, put something together wrong inside the fork so he is going to have to go in and take a look at them. I also noticed I had these two weird air bubbles in the paint of my gas tank. I got the tank about a year ago because my old one was weeping from the seams and this one just had a dent that needed to be taken out and then it needed to be repainted. I said to myself "i'll just pop the bubbles and put a small sticker over the paint. WRONG!!! As soon as i pop the bubble, the smell of gasoline overtakes my nose and I figure out, dammit, that is where the tank was trying to vent and that is where two holes managed to develop under the paint.

So now, I need to get my forks rebuilt and I need to get my tank fixed. Happy Fathers Day to me!

Try to call Honda about the tank, go on their recommendation on what to do, they may send you a new tank....worth a try.

Sounds like rust from water in the tank, possibly due to ethanol. Fantastic, fabulous, ethanol.

unfortunately, Honda told me to go pee in a river when my last tank started weeping from the seams. So pissed. Really didn't feel like doing the whole tank repair deal again. Wondering what I should do with these forks. I think me and my boy will go in and look at how the forks were rebuilt previously and if there are any good parts in em (gold valves etc). The bike had so many aftermarket parts when I bought it, its hard to believe that they didn't do something to the forks. Salvage what we can, replace what needs replacing, and she should be alive and ready to rock in about 2 weeks.
