since your talkin about boots n 1 of ya had a problem finding one that fits over your calves.......
what would you recommend for some one with big calves n needs a size 14 0r 15 boot?
I ran across a store that had a pair of Sidi Vortice Air that someone had returned.
Ordinarily they run around $500, but I got them for $280, which as quite a find.
I emailed Sidi about the calf issue and they said the boots were designed for an 18" circumference calve max.
My right calf is 18" and that boot goes on fine, but my left calf is 19" around due to an argument I had with a drunk driver and his Olds back in '81.
The boot does go on after I figured a technique of attaching the adjustment bands in a certain order.
The upper and mid adjusters are at max extension, but they do go on, which is more than I can say for any other boot I've tried.
And they are quite comfortable once on, and with the vents and material perforations (reason for the "Air" name), keep my feet cool once rolling.
They are track boots, so they're not waterproof, but I might check out their sport/touring boots to see if they will fit my calves.
Or I might see if their regular Vortice boot will suffice for those days when you get caught in the rain.
I would contact Sidi and see what they have for boots in your size range.
They seem to be quite helpful and responsive.
