Haha...I almost traded my Ruckus for a Grom. Cool little bikes, but they sell out super fast right now. My local dealer has them on back order and at a premium.

I think original price was $2700 before I left NC.

When I checked recently they were going for $3200ish...

2001 SP1 (sold)
2004 SP2 (properly stored)
2012 Ruckus (stolen)
2015 Grom (under construction)

Weyrauch pronounced (Y Rock)...Rock for short.

At $3,200 - I think these things are a bit of a fashion accessory. For a while they're cool, then something else comes out, or people lose interest, they're forgotten, etc. That'll be a better time to buy, I think - I doubt Groms will remain desirable forever...

Meanwhile more parts and conversions will be released for them, go on the market 2nd hand, etc. I see even Akrapovic makes titanium exhausts for them!

When they get cheap enough I think I'll get one. Maybe something my kids might grow into, in time. They're kinda cool, like Honda Monkeys (Which there's also a LOT of tuning for!) but have more potential for fun I think... Nice thing to pop to the shops on and scrape the knees around town on...

Weyrauch, would be cool for you to ride with the kids on that track near the house, sliding the rear, etc (Put lots of air in the tires to make them slide more easily - this is what's done with lower powered drift cars...). Meanwhile, use the Ruckus!

I had one held for me. I road it just to make sure it was fun. Then I turned it down. I was expecting it to be fun like my klx110. Very light, enough power to get you into a little trouble, bump the clutch and be looking towards the sky..... It ended up being a complete dog. Heavy feeling all over. The front end felt like it had bricks stacked on it and getting up to speed was like waiting in line for a movie, you know you'll get their but you aren't sure when.

My conclusion, wait till you find one hashed out for cheap and throw a big bore kit in it. And replace the tires with something, ANYTHING! Anything else would be better.

I think every video I've seen of these they are heavily modded. I took it up to redline and just dumped the clutch, threw all my weight back.... nothing happened...
