Laser Thermometer

I was cruising thru the BBQ section at Home Depot yesterday, and stumbled upon this cheapie laser thermometer. I thought about my tires.
How cool will it be to check temp along with psi of my tires while I'm riding? I know track guys use these, right? But don't they cost a whole lot more than $25?

Mine was around $160, while probably not necessary for most people the 1,400F feature was what made me jump on it, sometimes we see headers reach upwards of 1200-1300F on the dyno

These are a very handy tool to have.
Next best thing to a thermal imaging camera IMHO.
Good for diagnosing running problems on the bike even if they're just used for measuring differences in the header temps.

What temps do you look for in tires. Could you direct me to more info on this?
