2001 SP1 Sevice Check connector

Hey guys. new to the site and Finally got my dream bike. RC51

Even though i had to build it out of two haha

It is all up and running STRONG but, I have faulty F1 codes coming up. I have read other peoples threads on the service connector, downloaded the service manual and understand the codes. BUT.... Where the hell is it? I know it says under the seat near the battery but I cant see anything. Does anyone happen to have a picture of it and/or an exact location on the wiring harness it is? The only green connectors I can see that are green are the ones for the bank sensor and the ones for the kick stand switch.

Please help as I cant see it on the wiring diagram either. Maybe Im just blind.

Well I did find it in the Service manual. I was blind Now i just need to locate it on the harness. If i cant find it ..... It looks as though I can just do the reset procedure jumping the ground to pin A4 on the ECM.

If Im wrong please stop me!!!!

It's a little green 2-pole connector.
On SP1s, it located at the rear (remove the rear cowl panel).
On SP2s, it's located near the battery box under the riders seat.

You're correct that A4 to ground is the same as jumpering the service connector.
I just use the service connector since it's easier to work with.

I still can't find the connection. I built this bike hahaha WTF. MAYBE the last guy cut it out. Can you tell me where exactly on the harness it is? Also I jumped the A4 to ground and did this test

Appy jumper ground-a4
Turn on ignition
first light should stay on for 5 seconds. <-- it didn't.
That's as far as I got

Thanks for the quick reply!!

Hmmmm

I have an SP2, so I can't tell you exactly where the connector is on an SP1.
Hopefully others will take a photo showing the exact location.
All I know is what the manual says, which for an SP1, is at the rear of the bike in the trunk area under the passenger seat.
On the SP2, it's a green two-pin connector.

Did you followed the erase procedure exactly?
