I just wanted to post up a booboo that happend to me, so maybe it won't happen to someone else.
I was loosening my header connections to re-mount my midpipe brackets. When I loosened the rear down pipe clamp, I noticed a hose stuck in between the top of the shock coil and the exhaust pipe. Right there at that upper clamp. At first I thought it was a vacuum line, cause it looked the right size.
It turned out to be the fuel tank breather hose. I had my tank off for a few months during the build and forgot the proper routing of that particular hose. I had it the oppisite of the diagram, and all that slack wiggled down till it actually melted the hose in half, still stuck to the shock.
I didn't get a picture of the melted hose, inadvertantly just threw it away after the repair.
So I did get a picture of how close the fuel pump and hoses are. The bottom of the tank is real close to the top of the shock. Something I learned to watch out for...
Thanks budoka, but it's kinda lame without the picture of the melted hose.
You know how it is when you're working on the bike, you just keep going sometimes instead of stopping to take pictures.
I guess I was kinda surprised that snuck-up on me like that and happened.
Just gotta inspect a little better on my pre ride look-overs.
