2 bike crash on 33 mtn today....

Today I was coming to work and 2nd turn into the mountain there were 2 bikes (crusiser and goldwing) involved in a crash and it didn't look good. Virginia DOT is laying down small rocks on the side of the road for snow water run off so rocks are all over the road and from what i'm hearing at work they don't sweep the rocks off to try and stop the guys that fly down the mtn on skateboards. As of yesterday, the rocks were freakn horrible, i mean every corner was straight covered in rocks 50 -100 feet in length. Now, motorcyclist are paying the price, I rode the SV 2 days ago and it's literally 5-10 mph with cars tailgating you. Really pissed off at VDOT right now, getting people hurt or even killed aint cool. Just getting that off my chest.

Indiana gravel chipped and tarred a bunch of roads this spring. Nothing like "ice skating" on two wheels...I told a couple of the business owners I frequent down South I wouldn't be back any time soon, too risky. All states are cutting corners in repairing roads and those who actually enjoy them have to pay with sub-par work/repairs.

Ride safe.

With all the tax money that county drags in.....those roads should be perfect!

I am sure they had to build another state of the art school for the kids, right next to the school they build 15 years ago that is still not paid for.

Man thats not cool at all. I think if they want to stop skateboarders maybe they should put a police officer on patrol and site the kids doing this. Like the old saying it takes one bad apple. I feel bad for the two that were in the wreck and hope they are okay

Highways Dept here has a program every year where they tar-fill the cracks and then paste them with chips just like when chip sealing. Difference is after the chip sealing they sweep the highways to clear the loose chips; not these bozo's! They just let the traffic push it off to the shoulders (hopefully the shoulders). I've had more than my share of chips bouncing off my face shield.
I really hope the two bikers are OK after that crash. Bikes of any description and rocks/pebbles/chips/gravel just don't get along.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound
