Mirrors, Bar End VS Upper Mount…

After observing many pictures on this form, I’ve noticed that a Bar End Mirror is very rare. Is this change/mod illegal in your state/country? I find many benefits of having a bar end…
- Less wind resistance/smaller foot print
- Easier to see while hanging and mobbin’ thru the turns
- Quicker to get ready for track days
- Cleaner and sleeker look

I’m just curious, even in California you don’t see many of them. I use a 3 ˝” Bar End and it actually gives me better view behind me, but more of a blind area just to the side of you… you should head turn anyway, much safer…

What 2 cents do have on Bar Mirrors, Bar End VS Upper Mount?

In the state of california I'm sure you only need one mirror on any registered Street legal vehicle. In Camp Pendleton you need 2, one on either side, but that is rarely enforced from what I've noticed. Personally I like the Bar end style too but, the mirrors i have are serve fine, the only thing i regret is the 2" convex mirrors i added on the corners of the stockers. There's more upper mount styles anyways, they provide a closer view of the traffic behind IMO....

I have used both styles of mirrors- Yes the stoch mirrors vibrate- Yet it is common with all stock mirrors. The mirrors extenders do help with the vibration, and get the mirrors out where you can use them.. I don't know if you could EVERy tell the differents in wind resistance (short of in a wind tunnel testing).
Bar-end mirrors IMO are a personal prefernce.. -Yet take away from what the bar ends are made for - Which are for the reduction of vibration in the handle bars, A impact point in a low-slide, or wreck..
And I don't think I have ever used a mirror to look behind me -when in the twistes, or busting thru traffic... I am always focused on the road ahead of me..

I wouldn't choose bar-end mirrors mainly because that would hamper me during lane sharing. I do it a lot, with courtesy and max awareness, but it really makes it easier to get around.
The stock mirror length does show me to much of my arms, but they work fine for me.
I keep a pretty good eye on my mirrors, especially when I'm stopped at a traffic light.
