Micron Blow Out

I've been going to post up some pictures of my Titanium Micron Can blow out. They sounded and looked good on the street but they didn't do to well at the track. The side of one of them blew out on their first trip to the track. I contacted Micron USA and they informed me that Micron UK went out of business a couple of years ago but they could sell me some stainless steel sleeves.

Is that bracket on the side of pipe something that is stock? Just asking because my Micron's (Ti's) don't have that.

FWIW, my pipes (full system) have been on the bike for almost 11 years and 16k miles with no issues.

That's how I got the exhaust all the mounting parts look factory nothing looks modified or retro fitted. I'm sure why it failed was the bracket mounted to the sleeve instead of using a strap. I have a extra set of Erion Racing cans that I could put the mounting brackets on and fit right on the mid pipes. They look pretty good there and I'm sure they'd hold up. I like the look of the high mount pipes I just don't care for my heals up against the pipes and can't get my foot back far enough on the pegs.

Yeah, that sucks. I guess having them look better with the no strap mounting was more important than having them last a long time.

FWIW I really like the way they look, just don't like that this stuff happens to them. Microns used to be one of my favorite pipes for the RC's and VTR's, shame they went out of business.

Ouch! Well at least you have a reason now to get new pipes!

Its better to appear dumb then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
