Anyone register a frame they swapped?

So i finally got burned buying a bike! Its my second RC and picked it up with from a guy who said he lost the title when he moved and was selling it for $2k. I thought something was a little fishy but i figured if it runs and shifts its easily worth 2k. come to find out the d-bag had a $2k lean on it!!! I asked him if it had a lean before i bought it and he said he payed it off years ago. stupid me i believed him and made the deal. I've bought bikes before without titles thats why i wasn't too worried. Anyway, instead of wasting my time with a small claims court, im just gonna buy another frame and swap everything over. Does anybody know when you register a bike if the vin #'s and engine #'s have to match? Thanks for your input, kenny.

I know it's saturday so DMV isn't open, but have you called to ask?
Really sorry to hear you got burned. That sucks, lesson learned, huh?

Good luck with the outcome.

I say use the legal system first....this keeps you from being charged with fraud. Pending on your state, that penalty is way over 2Grand...

You may even want to contact that State's attorney and see what the recourse is, they may fight this fight for you....

Sorry you had to experience this....but try to do the right thing. And if you don't, please don't post it here

Yeah my sisters husband is a cop and I talked to base legal and my only option is small claims and if I do win and he doesn't pay then I have to go back to small claims cause he didn't pay, also it's a couple states away where I bought it. Sucks balls!
