Newbie to RC51 - air filter question

I just purchased a 2002 rc51. It has Jardine slip-ons and k&n filters. I replaced the filters with oem units. My question is, which side of the air box does the filter with the black rubber piece inside of it go on? I couldn't find the answer using the search function. I put that filter on the left side. The one with the flapper.
I did pull the vacuum line from the flapper diaphragm and plugged it. I also completed the soft rev mod and put a 42 tooth rear sprocket on the bike.

Filter with black rubber cone goes on the right side.
Since you've disabled your flapper, next time just order two left filters.

Why two right filters?? Is this just to simplify re-installation? Has for mods of OEM filters - RougeRC51 only specified removing the outer metal screen from the OEM filter....

The parts list shows two air filter part numbers, for left and right filter.
The left filter doesn't come with the sound deadening rubber insert.

Yup, I'm confused too. The parts fiche shows both right and left elements as the same: p/n 17235-MCF-D30 for an '02. '00 shows one side being 17235-MCF-000 and '05 shows one side being 17235_MCF-A20. Looks like it should be the left side but not designated left. All 3 I checked show the same p/n for the 'other' side which I assume is r/h.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound
