What's the fastest you have, allegedly, gone on your bike?

I'm just curious about this. We all get a little silly at times and open the throttle without paying any attention to how fast we're going. Then we look down and think 'holy crap' I better slow down. By putting 'allegedly' in there, we should protect ourselves from incriminating ourselves. Back in England, it was all quiet on the M56 headed to Altrincham on a Sunday morning. I opened my Gixxer through every gear as there were no cars around. When the bike wasn't pulling anymore I looked down and allegedly the speedo read 176mph. But my eyes could have been deceiving me .

And yes, I used to ride at Oulton Park where it was safe. But there wasn't enough track to hit top end on the bike.

GPS calibrated speedohealer recall told me 175mph on my old '07 R1 - Yoshi slipons, M4 ypipe/cat delete, K&N filter, PC3, -1/+2 gearing, stock motor.

This was at VIR full course. Interesting thing was that this was with me pinned in 6th gear at redline going through the kink on the front stretch. So in essence my rear wheel was spinning up to 175mph and the rest of the bike wasn't. I've got some gopro footage of that trackday - I'll try to look it up.

Actually starts out with me leading onto the front straight. The start/finish line is just before the big oak tree. Takes a few laps to get used to keeping it pinned through that kink. Can't wait to get the RC out there this year!

I could only give you an average from Hickory(Hwy 40) to north Gastonia(Hwy 85), NC is 37 miles..I was head for Charlotte, and late for job related training(Ha HA) Got off of Hwy 40 on to Hwy 321 at 0630(give or take) and was sitting at the traffic light (0645) to get on Hwy 85 north to Charlotte..
do the math..
